ORDINANCE FIXING THE SCHEDULE OF UTILITY RATES GOVERNING PAYMENT OF BILLS, PROVIDING FOR DISCONNECTIONS AND RECONNECTIONS, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES OR PORTIONS OF ORDINANCES'IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE. ' BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas: SECTION 1. Schedule of rates. The monthly rates tp be charged consumers for public utility services -- namely, electricity,.watei., and/or sewerage connection -- shall be in accordance with the schedules as follows: (A) Rates for electricity 1. For domestic consumers using electricity in households or offices only: 1st 20 KWH 8¢ per KWH Next 40 KWH 5¢ per KWH Next 40 KWH .4¢ per KWH Next 80 KWH .3¢ per KWH All in excess of 180 KWH .2¢ per KWH Minimum charge for Domestic Lighting. . . . . •. $2.00 2. For commercial or industrial consumers. using electricity in business establishments: 1st 25 KWH Next 400 KWH Next 1000 KWH All over 1425 KWH Minimum charge for Commercial Lighting . . . . . 10¢ per KWH 5¢ per KWH 4¢ per 2¢ per KW - $2.00', (B) Rates for water, domestic and commercial consumption: 1st 1,000 gals 75¢ . Next 2,000 .gals 400 per M. Next 3,000 gals 25¢'per M. All over 6,000 gals 20¢ per M. Minimum water charge $1.00 (C) Rates for sewerage service: 1. For domestic consumers using holds or office only: sewerage services for house - 1 Water Closet connection 500 2 Water Closet connections . . . . . . ... . 750 3 or more Water Closet connections 1 00 2. For apartment and rooming houses using sewerage 1 Water Closet connection Each additional Water Closet connection services: 50¢ 250 3'. For commercial or industrial consumers using sewerage services for business establishments: 1st 7,000 gals. or fraction thereof of water used . . . . 50¢ Each additional 7,000 gals. or fraction thereof of water used 250 00196 cv6 Where it can be shown that any considerable part of the water used by commercial and industrial consumers does not reach the sewers, the City Council may make such adjustments in their rates as shall be deemed just and equitable. SECTION 2. Payment of bills: (A) A11 charges due the City from consumers of public utilities services shallbe based on bills rendered by the City to the consumer, and such bills shall be due and payable not later than the 15th day of the month next succeeding the month during which these services were rendered. (B) "A11 bills shall be discounted in the amount of 10 per cent under the rates specified in the schedules appearing in Section 1 of this Ordinance,' provided, but provided only, that such bills exceed one ($1.00) dollar in amount and are paid within the 15 -day period set forth in Article (A) above. SECTION 3, Disconnections and reconnections: (A) All electric, water and sewerage connections shall be severed for any consumer of public utilities services who fails to pay all or any part of his total bill for such services within 15 days after the same shall be due and payable as provided in Article (A) of Section 2 above. (B) When connections for public utilities services have been severed, as provided in Article (A) of this Section, the same shall be restored only when all amounts due the City shall have been paid and an additional fee of $1.00 shall also have been paid to cover the expenses of the restoration for each type of service to be reconnected. SECTION 4, Any ordinance or portion thereof in conflict with this Ordinance is hereby repealed, and the provisions of this Ordinance in case of conflict shall govern. If any portion of this Ordinance shall'be declared invalid, such declaration shall not affect the other portions thereof. Passed and approved this 12 day of December, A. D. 1945.
