HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-0205 - Ordinance - 02/21/1955ORDINANCE NO. 205 ORDERER OF :ELECTION AAT ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLIEGE STATION, TEXAS ORDERING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN THE CITY 0.F COLTECE STATION ON TUESDAY, APRIL 5, 1955, FOR THE ELECT ION OF THREE COUNC IMEN; FIXING THE TIME, PLACE AND MANNER OF HOLDING THE ELECTION AND APPOINTING JUDGES' AND CIERKS THERE- BE U2 ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas: A general election shall be and the same is hereby ordered to be held on the first Tuesday in April, 1955, the same being April 5, for the purpose of electing three councilmen, namely, one from each ward, of the City of College Station, Texas. The election willbe held in the Council Rooni of the City building and the following persons are hereby appointed managers of said election, to -wit: Mrs. W. B. Clements, judge, and Mrs. C. B. Godbey and Mrs. Ernest Langford, clerks. The polls shall be opened promptly at 8 otclock A.M. and shall be closed promptly at 7 otclock P.M. The election will be held under the provisions of the laws of the State of Texas governing general elections, and only duly qualified voters who are residents of the City of College Station shall be allowed to vote. Copies of this ordinance, signed by the Mayor end attested by the City Secretary shall, when posted at three public places in the City of College Station, serve as proper notice of said election.
