HomeMy WebLinkAbout1954-0193 - Ordinance - 07/19/1954STANDARD ORDINANCE NO. 193 AN ORDINANCE MIAKING CERTAIN MODIFICATIONS IN JERSEY STREET. IN FRONT OF A. & M. CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas: Section 1. It is hereby declared to be the purpose of the city council to reduce the traffic hazards surrounding the A. & M. Consolidated School and in the accomplishment of that purpose to exercise the power relative to streets granted in Section 10 of the charter of the City of College Station, Texas, as follows: Section 2. Jersey Street as heretofore existing and as platted on the official map of the city is hereby closed between Lee Street and Timber Street and between Timber Street and Holick Drive, end shall hereinafter be used as a walking and a parking area. Section 3. Jersey Street shall hereinafter extend on a curve northward, beginning at Lee Street and straightening out at Timber Street thirty feet north of the former north side of Jersey Street, thence easterly in a straight line, likewise thirty feet north of the former north side of Jersey Street, to Holick Drive.
