HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-0174 - Ordinance - 08/11/1952ORDINANCE NO. 174 An ordinance providing for fixing the boundaries of the City by correcting the survey description of a portion of such boundary. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas: 1. That whereas, in Section 3 of the charter of the City of College Station, the boundaries of the city were in part described as follows: Thence S 450 W a distance of 1912 feet to the east right-of-way line of State Highway No. 308; Thence N 450 W along the east right-of-way line of said State Highway No. 308 a distance of approximately 600 feet; Thence S 450 W a distance of approximately 1490 feet to the east corner of Lot 9, Block 8 of Highland Park Addition to the City of Bryan, Texas; 2. That whereas, the above quoted description was and is inaccurate and it is desired to correct the same as provided in Section 7 of aforesaid charter empowers said City by ordinance to fix the boundary limits. 3. That the survey description of the boundaries of the City as quoted in Section 1 herein above be stricken out and that there be and now is hereby substituted in its stead as the correct description the following: "Beginning at a point in the present College Station, and Bryan common city limit line said point being the most northwesterly corner of tract A Tauber Addition to the City of College Station and the most southeasterly corner of Lot 9,'Block 8 Highland Park Addition to the City of Bryan; Thence S 42° 00' 30" E along the southwesterly line of Oak Terrace Addition a distance of 58.8 feet to a point in the center line of'Inlow Blvd. right-of-way; Thence N 43° 35' E along the center line of Inlow Blvd. a distance of 51.05 feet to a point; Thence N 400 23' E along the center line of Inlow Blvd. a distance of 135.63 feet to a point; Thence N 31° 30' E along the center line of Inlow Blvd. a distance of 671.34 feet to a point; Thence N 230 53' 45" E along the center line of Inlow Blvd and continuing across the right-of-way of State Highway FM 308 a distance of 524.6 feet to a 3/4 inch steel bar set in the southeasterly right-of-way line of FM 308; The above bearings and distances are those of the city limit line common to College Station and Bryan. Thence S 44° 30' 15" E along the southeasterly right-of-way line of FM 308 a distance of 827.9 feet to a 3/4 inch steel bar set in the southeasterly right- of-way line of FM 308; 00433 Thence N 45° 00' E across the lands of the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas a distance of 1887.1 feet to an iron bar at the west corner of the C.J. Gorzycki tract, said point being the same point described in Ordinances No. 121 and 158 defining the city limit of College Station."
