AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, ORDERING A SPECIAL MUNIC—
IPAL Ii,LECTION IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION ON TUESDAY, MAY 24, 1966 rut THE
ELECTION OF A COUNCILMAN FROM WARD I TO FILL A VACANCY CREATED BY THE RESIGNA—
TION OF J. A. 0RR FOR THE PERIOD ENDING WITH THE MUNICIPAL FTMTION OF APRIL 4,
1967; FIXING THE TIME, PLACE AND MANNER OF HOLDING THE FT,ECTION AND APPOINTING
JUDGES AND CLERKS THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINEll by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas:
A special election shall be and the same is hereby ordered to be held on
Tuesday, May 24, 1966, for the purpose of electing a councilman from Ward I to
fill a vacancy created by the resignation of J. A. Orr for the period ending
with the municipal election of April 4, 1967.
The election will be held at the A & M Consolidated School Music Room,
in said City, with L. G. Jones as Presiding Judge, and said Presiding Judge
shall appoint the necessary clerks to assist him.
The polls shall be opened promptly at S o'clock a.m. and shall be closed
promptly at 7 o'clock p.m.
The election will be held under the provisions of the laws of the State
of Texas governing special elections, and only duly qualified voters who are
residents of Ward I of the City of College Station shall be allowed to vote.
Copies of this ordinance, signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Secretary shall, when posted at three public places in the City. of College
Station, serve as proper notice of said election.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the llth day of April, 1966.

NOTICE OF CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING OF CITY
COUNCIL OF CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF BRAZOS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that there will be a special meeting of the City
Council of the City of College Station, Texas, at the City Hall within said
City at 5:00 P.M. on the llth day of April, 1966, for the purpose of ordering
a special municipal election in the City of College Station, for the election
of a councilman from Ward I to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of
J. A. Orr for the period ending with the municipal election of April )1967.

April, 1966.

We, the undersigned, members of the City Council of the City of College
Station, Texas, hereby acknowledge receipt of the above notice of call of
special meeting, and hereby consent to the holding of said special meeting as
