ORDINANCE NO. 385
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING ON -PAVEMENT PARKING ON STATE HIGHWAY NUMBER SIX (6)
BETWEEN THE NORTHERN BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, AND THE
SOUTHERN BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING A
PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS, that pursuant to authority under the charter of the City of College
Station, and the statutes of the State of Texas, the following regulations
concerning parking on both sides of State Highway Number 6 between the
northern and southern boundaries of the City are hereby fixed:
1. In the best interest of public safety, the smooth north -south
movement of traffic being essential to transportation within the City, on -
pavement parking between the northern city limits of the City of College
Station, and the southern city limits of College Station is hereby prohibited
except in the event of vehicle emergency.
2, It is ordered and ordained that such parking restriction be
given public notice by signs in appropriate locations.
3. (a) Any person violating this ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor.
(b) Every person convicted of a violation of this ordinance
shall be punished by a fine -of not less than One Dollar ($1.00) nor more
than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00).
4. This ordinance shall become effective February 1, 1964.
