They provide a basis of study in which the ;:ity of College Station recreation Dept. can evaluate facility requirements, in order to maintain a quality rec— reational experience for the community,it serves. The existiniz facilities narrowly accommodate those pro-,rairs which are currently scheduled. iowever. as interest and pop+dation -rouTs and the value of the recreational ex— perience becomes more apparent to an increasing; segment of the population, the facilities -must also be expanded. Also, it should be pointed out that with the development of additional athletic facilities the City of College Station could meet the requirements to host the regional and state— wide tournaments held by such organizations as the Texas Amateur Athletic .-ederati.on and Amateur Athletic Union. These tournaments bring prestige and revenue into our i;ity and the sport.
