A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS, APPROVING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR STEEPLECHASE PARK
DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of College Station, Texas, solicited bids for the construction phase of
Steeplechase Park Development; and
WHEREAS, the selection of Acklam Construction Co., Ltd. is being recommended as the lowest
responsible bidder for the construction services related to Steeplechase Park Development
Project; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas:
PART 1: That the City Council hereby finds that Acklam Construction Co., Ltd. is
the lowest responsible bidder.
PART 2: That the City Council hereby approves the contract with Acklam
Construction Co., Ltd. for $362,741.00 for the labor, materials, and
equipment required for the improvements related to the Steeplechase Park
Development.
PART 3: That the funding for this project shall be as budgeted from the following
sources: $115,000.00 in the Park Capital Improvement Projects Fund
through certificates of obligation issued in 2005, $24,000.00 in Zone 5
Park Land Dedication Capital Improvement Projects Fund, $196,000.00
from Community Development Block Grant Funds allocated for 2004-
2005, and $27,741.00 from Community Development Block Grant Funds
allocated for 2005-2006.
PART 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
ADOPTED this 15th day of December, A.D. 2005.
