Brayton Field 1962 Dry Chem
A 1962 dry chemical demonstration of a gasoline fire extinguishment at Brayton Field
Dry Chem. Ext 1950’s
Approx. 1957, Chief Hershel Sharp (Later to become the Assistant Director of Fire Protection Training), demonstrates controlling a run-down spill of gasoline with a CO2 extinguisher.

Hensel Park – Building fire exercise
Late 40’s or early 50’s. Fire extinguishment exercise consisting of an attack on house fire using a hose at Hensel Park. Derelict structures from out in the county were brought to
town for training purposes. Note that the pictured house is up on blocks. Each structure afforded multiple training exercises and then was completely burned at the end of the day.
Ladder Extension at dorm

Pump Op Class
Chief “Blondie” Rucker of Kileen, Pump Operations Class Instructor, in the interesting hat, points out the advantages offered by the two-stage pump verses the single-stage pump in the
foreground. The pump operations classes were set up on campus where there is ready access to water. In the background is a Fire Truck
