governmental agency to provide a governmental service to the public.
Office: A room or group of rooms used for conducting the affairs of a business,
profession, service, industry or government and generally furnished with desks, tables,
files, and communication equipment
Educational Facility, College/University: A college or university authorized by the State
to award degrees
Educational Facility, Vocational/Trade: Any public or private secondary or higher
education facility primarily teaching usable skills that prepare students for jobs in a trade
and meeting the State requirements as a vocational facility. All instruction and activity
must be fully contained within the building
Reason/Explanation for Written Interpretation Request:
City of College Station has denied Martell Interest, Landlord/Owner of 903 Harvey Road,
College Station, Texas a building permit to complete light renovations to 903 Harvey
Road, a C-1 Zoned Shopping Center, so Texas A&M Research Foundation(TAMRF) can
occupied said space. TAMRF would occupy the subject property and their use
classification, in the opinion of the building Owner, his Attorney, and the Tenant, would
certainly fit into one of the above"Permitted Uses"in the C-1 Zoning classification.
