It is important to remember that simply requesting additional information from the requestor will not stop the clock on our response. Anytime we possess information we must request a ruling from the attorney general to withhold it. When you believe that the request is too vague or the information is confidential it is always best practice to consult our Legal department early on, even before you ask the requestor for clarification since our response is time sensitive.
