HomeMy WebLinkAboutStaff Report STAFF REPORT Project Manager: Jennifer Prochazka, Staff Planner Date: March 24, 2005 Email: jprochazka@cstx.gov Item: Public hearing, presentation, discussion, and possible action on an ordinance rezoning a portion of the Kolbe property proposed to be incorporated into Horse Haven Estates, 0.87 acres generally located to the southeast of Horse Haven Lane, from A-O Agricultural Open to R-1 Single Family Residential. Applicant: Greg Taggart, Municipal Development Group, Agent for Carl Kolbe, property owner Staff Recommendations: Staff recommends approval of the rezoning. Item Summary: The applicant is proposing a rezoning in order to incorporate this property into the single family lots that are currently being platted for Horse Haven Estates. The surrounding property is zoned R-1 Single Family Residential and A-O Agricultural Open. Comprehensive Plan Considerations: This request is in compliance with the adopted Land Use Plan, which designates this property and the surrounding area as Single Family Residential Medium Density. Item Background: The property was annexed in 1977 and zoned A-O at that time. This property has never been platted. A Preliminary Plat of this area was recently approved. Commission Action Options: The Commission acts as a recommending body on the question of rezoning, which will be ultimately decided by City Council. The Commission options are: 1.
