Hoping that one of you might be able to see if CS building permit records still exist that might relate to campus houses
being moved into the community in the late 1930s and 1940s?

I just found on Project Hold:
Minutes of special meeting of College Station city council, 27 March 1940
A motion was made by Jones and seconded by Wilcox to give permission to Mr. MArburger to move a house through the
streets of College Station - at the responsibility of College - and to repair the streets if necessary.
Then:
Meeting of College Station, City Council, 5 September 1940
Motion was made ... to adopt the Ordinance pertaining to the moving of houses through the street (Copies of this
ordinance are to go to Mr.
Marburger, Mrs. Williamson and Mr. Wyatt). Motion carried.
I have this horrible doubt now whether buried in the CS building permits are permits to move the various houses off
campus and through the CS streets.
Surely someone looked at those files (if they exist) back in the 1980s, but ????
