APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE WITHOUT THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ADDRESSED:
1. Provide a detailed explanation of the proposed use including the height of the tower, tower design, maintenance
schedules, etc. (as applicable):
T- Mobile USA Inc proposes to install a 26 foot stealth design pole with internal antennas on the roof of an existing
parking garage belonging to Callaway Student Housing. The pole and supporting radio equipment will be enclosed
within a 6 ft security fence. The site currently is an unused 6 ft x 16 ft space defined by concrete curb stops at the
end of a row of parking. Serving wireless customers in the vicinity of Callaway Student Housing, the proposed
installation will replace an existing T- Mobile site being removed from the Texas A &M campus due to new
development. Once installed, the site will rarely require attention. A technician will visit the site one or two times
per month for inspections and /or maintenance.
2. Explain how the proposed conditional use will meet the purpose and intent of the Unified Development Ordinance
and how the use will meet all of the minimum standards established in the UDO for this type of use:
After the current antenna site serving this neighborhood is removed, the proposed facility will provide for continuous
personal, business and emergency communications services to community residents. T- Mobile will meet the
aesthetic objectives of the UDO by installing a pole which is similar in size and color to existing poles on top of the
parking garage. To ensure the facility is unobtrusive, all antennas will be installed inside the pole.
3. Explain how the proposed use is consistent with Comprehensive Plan:
The stealth skin design of the pole and the reduced height of the pole makes the installation less obtrusive, thus
helping to meet neighborhood integrity objectives of the Comprehensive Plan. Utilization of the existing dead space
in the parking row, preserves existing off street parking, thus preserving local traffic capacities.
4. Explain how the proposed use is compatible with the surrounding areas:
the pole will be similar in size and color to other poles on the roof of the parking garage.
5. Explain how the proposed site plan and circulation plan will be harmonious with the character of the
surrounding area:
The proposed use preserves existing off street parking, thus helping to maintain street traffic capacities.
10/10 Page 3 of 10
6. Explain how infrastructure impacts will be minimized, including traffic impacts:
The proposed use positively impacts electrical use, because the new radio systems require fewer amps than the
equipment being replaced. There is minimal traffic impact, since the site will generate only about 2 vehicle trips
per month. There is no water, sewer of drainage impact.
7. Explain the effects of the use will have on the environment:
The new radios are use less electricity than the radios being replaced, which ultimately has a positive impact on
the growth of green house gasses released through electrical generation.
The applicant has prepared this application and certifies that the facts stated herein and exhibits attached
