BRYAN I COLLEGE STATION METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION South College Bicycle & Pedestrian Project Kick-off/Scoping Meeting Friday, August 2, 2013 2:00 p.m. -3:30 p.m. Texas A&M Transportation Services Office 702 University Drive East, Bldg. E., College Station, TX 77845 Notes P&N: Provide bike/ped facilities to address the increased demand being created by the development in Northgate, specifically three high-density multi-use facilities with condo/apts, retail and office space across from TAMU. Will have project consultant wordsmith for NEPA requirements. Rvw. Routes -Outside portion of A&M property across from ACC development (all multi-family condos on East side of S. College) is ground leased and may not remain "university property". CoCS project comments: no authority to make ACC developers build b/p facilities so assuming facilities will be on East side . Will eliminate free rights at University intersection with S. College Developer will be doing TIA and providing to TxDOT or CoCS but no legal requirement to implement based on results. Could provide 2-way multi-use route on East side of S. College from Brookside to Inlow and develop trails in Hensley Park that will tie-in to the MU route . Bryan Summary: RR said no way, no how ped facilities in ROW. S. College to Hardy to Cavitt into downtown Invite Phillip Ray into our meeting or ask to provide contact with developers. (Shon Link -Midwest Developers representative) Main problem area is ACC and Midway developments N. of University and both sides of S. College. Need to decide locations/facility types: ideally MU on both sides from Inlow, S. to Univ. Provide crossover at Inlow with bike only on E. side to N. of Inlow. Provide crossover at Univ. on S. College. Who is your target demographic? For what purpose? ****Mtg. with Person with access -Peter Lange***** Try to get them to meet with us.
