This letter is to serve as our notice of intent to selectively clear the site and is
accompanies the Development Permit. We are unable to fulfill all of the requirements
for a full development permit until a survey has been completed. The site that Stata
Corp will be developing has dense vegetation . In order to get an accurate
topographic and tree survey, the site will have to be cleared to some extent. We
propose to have the site selectively cleared to remove undergrowth and trees that are
less than 2 inch caliper. The clearing will occur in the "Developed Area" of the site.
The only area that will be cleared in the LAUE will two areas approximately 20 feet
wide to access the "Developed Area" of the site. Plt~ase refer to the attached
preliminary site plan. The Client intends to selectively clear the site and maintain it.
It will not remain in a "cleared" stage but will be an"improved " site . Please refer to
the attached memorandum from Kim Foutz regarding other requirements.

CLEARING OF STATA LAND
The Business Center Advisory Committee held a meeting on July 29, 1999.
Members Present:

The meeting was held in order to consider a request by Mike Record of Arkitex Studio,
architect for STATA Corporation. This request involves the preliminary clearing of
undergrowth and trees on the 8.0 acre tract owned by Stata Corporation in the Business
Center. See attached letter.
The Board approved the request for preliminary clearing with the following requirements:
1. No clearing will be conducted in the LAUE except for driveways
2. Only trees of2 _inch caliper or less may be removed
3. No clearing will be conducted in proposed protected areas
4. No clearing will be conducted in areas marked for the Navasota Ladies' Tresses
After the preliminary clearing, the applicant must still obtain a Development Permit as
required by Ordinance along with providing the Business Center Advisory Committee a
clearing/site demolition plan indicating all existing site features that are to be removed
prior to any additional site clearing taking place.

The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to prevent silt and debris from leaving the immediate
construction site in accordance with the approved erosion control plan as well as the City of College
Station Drainage Policy and Design Criteria. The Owner and/or Contractor shall assure that all disturbed
areas are sodden and establishment of vegetation occurs prior to removal of any silt fencing or hay bales
used for temporary erosion control. The Owner and/or Contractor shall also insure that any disturbed
vegetation be returned to its original condition, placement and state. The Owner and/or Contractor shall
be responsible for any damage to adjacent properties, city streets or infrastructure due to heavy machinery
and/or equipment as well as erosion, siltation or sedimentation resulting from the permitted work.
Any trees required to be protected by ordinance or as part of the landscape plan must be completely fenced
before any operations of this permit can begin.
In accordance with Chapter 13 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College Station, measures shall

CLEARING OF STATA LAND
The Business Center Advisory Committee held a meeting on July 29, 1999.
Members Present:
Jim Callaway
Charles Wood
Kim Foutz
Members Absent:
None
The meeting was held in order to consider a request by Mike Record of Arkitex Studio,
architect for STATA Corporation. This request involves the preliminary clearing of
undergrowth and trees on the 8.0 acre tract owned by Stata Corporation in the Business
Center. See attached letter.
The Board approved the request for preliminary clearing with the following requirements:
1. No clearing will be conducted in the LAUE except for driveways
2. Only trees of 2 _ inch caliper or less may be removed
3. No clearing will be conducted in proposed protected areas
4. No clearing will be conducted in areas marked for the Navasota Ladies' Tresses
After the preliminary clearing, the applicant must still obtain a Development Permit as
required by Ordinance along with providing the Business Center Advisory Committee a
clearing/site demolition plan indicating all existing site features that are to be removed
prior to any additional site clearing taking place.
