TRACT DESCRIPTION CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SOCIETY COLLEGE STATION, TX DRAINAGE REPORT The Christian Science Society project is located on the northwest quadrant of the intersection of Boyett Street and Patricia Street. The project covers a 0 .3361-acre tract formed by Lost 5 and 6, Block 9, W . C. Boyett Estate Partition. The project tract is currently occupied by a one story church structure, a storage shed and a gravel parking lot. The grounds are landscaped and well maintained . A 24" x 36" drawing , Site Plan , submitted separately , depicts the project , its location, the existing contour lines and the proposed grading. The adopted Flood Insurance Study does not identify the existence of a 100-flood plain affecting this tract (Map # 48041 C 0143 C, July 2 , 1992). 2. STORMWATER RUNOFF At present the tract drains towards the southwest, as sheet flow, onto Patricia Street. The attached drawing shows the tract and its location . In February 1997 McClure Engineering prepared a report and design (updated in November 1977) for municipal stormwater improvements in the vicinity of the project area. According to the report, research by Kent Laza , P. E., estimated runoff after full development from the Christian Science Society tract was included i n the design of the stormdrain culvert that was installed as part of the i mprovements . The design used a 10-year storm. Exhibit 1 shows the runoff calculations for 5 , 10 , 25 , 50 and 100-year rainfalls using the Rational Method. The tract has been divided into two sections . Section 1 covers the area where the existing and proposed improvements are located . Section 2 covers the area adjacent to Patricia Street which will not substantially be affected by the proposed improvements . The post-development runoff for the 10-year storm is estimated at 1.81 cfs , while post-development runoff for the 100- year storm is estimated at 2.43 cfs . page 1 .. Exhibit 2 , Outflow Hydrograph, estimates the storage required should on-site detention be provided. Exhibit 3, in five pages , expands on the information shown on Exhibit 2. The required storage for the 100-year rain is estimated at 0 .009 ac-ft (390 ft-ft). Because of the size of the tract and the low runoff figures no on site detention is being provided . Upon completion of development the runoff will continue to flow onto Patricia Street through the new driveway. This runoff will then be carried as street runoff to the nearest storm inlet in Church Ave. as provided for in the McClure design (10-year storm). 3. CERTIFICATION This report and design conform with the City of College Station Drainage Policy and Design Standards.
