By: Michael G . Hester , P .E . Registered Professional Engineer No . 69104 State of Texas UNIVERSITY PARK BLOCK W -CERTIFICATION DRAINAGE REPORT UNIVERSITY PARK BLOCK W COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS APRIL, 1999 INTRODUCTION : The proposed development is located in the University Park Subdivision between Spring Loop and Autumn Circle. The legal description is University Park, Block W and is approximately 0.86 acres. The proposed improvements include pavement , drainage and utility improvements for two fourplexes and one duplex. The site consists of grassland with numerous trees . The terrain slopes in a westerly direction toward an existing drainage channel at an average slope of two percent . The latest Federal Emergenc y Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps (48041CO 14 2 C) shows that a small portion of the tract is in the regulatory 100-year flood plain. The site is zoned MF(multi -family) and is being developed by Mr. Ronny White, Landmark Custom Homes, P.O . Box 2 666 , Br y an, TX 77802 , 409 .846 .4035. EXISTING DRAINAGE BASIN DESCRIPTION : The drainage area consists of approximately 0 .86 acres with the highest point at Summer Court . Approximately 0 . 6 acres o f off site storm runoff enters the tract along the south propert y line. The primary drainage system that the site drains to is Burton Creek, Basin Reference No. 1 which is in the "Special Drainage Basin and Channel Reach Design Standards section of the College Station Drainage Policy and Design Standards and detention is required to the 100 year ultimate storm event . PROPOSED DRAINAGE: • The proposed pavement design will route the runoff along driveways and into a detention basin . The detention basin was designed using the Haestead Methods Pond -2 computer program and will contain the increased runoff from the 2 through the 100 year ultimate storm . • Predevelopment discharges for the 2 , 5 , 10, 25 and 100 year storms were determined using the Haestead Methods Qui c k TR-55 rational method for computing runoff hydrographs . Detai l ed calculations are contained in PREDEVELOPMENT CONDITIONS . • Post-development discharges were determined utilizing the same hydrography methodo l ogy . Detailed calculations are contained in POSTDEVELOPMENT CONDITIONS .
