Mr. Ray Havens
Electric Transmission &
Distribution Superintendent
City of College Station
P. 0. Box 9960
College Station, Texas 77842
June 28, 1994
RE: El Chico Restaurant -Electric Service
Dear Ray:
In accordance with your request , we have reviewed the load and service requirements
for the El Chico Restaurant proposed for construction at Texas Avenue and Holleman Drive.
We have planned the on-site electric distribution layout to ser\re this project to be underground,
in accordance with the requirements of your City's line extension policy . Enclosed herewith
. for your review and use are five (5) copies of our proposed electric distribution layout for this
facility. A Bill of Material and a Project Cost Estimate for the above referenced project are
also enclosed. A diskette has been provided which includes this project electrical layout for
your use.
-1-_,_ ..... ....-J A 300 kVA, three-phase, 12,470 GNDY/7,200 volt primary to 208Y/120 volt secondary
pad-mounted transformer has been planned for installation to provide the requested service
utilization voltage level for the El Chico Restaurant. Metering for El Chico Restaurant is
proposed to be accomplished at the transformer using 600/5 ampere current transformers and
a meter with demand indication of at least 4.0 . Specifications for your use in purchasing this
transformer are enclosed.
In accordance with your City policy , the developer should plan to furnish and install,
in compliance withTity specifications , all required elec trical conduit and pour the required
concrete pad for said 300 kVA transformer and the junction box. The electric layout drawing
enclosed provides details regarding the required number and sizes of conduit , installation depth,
proposed conduit locations, riser pole conduit requirements, etc; the transformer pad details
should be furnished when the dimensions of the transformer and junction box proposed to be
used are known.
In accordance with the new policy of your City, the developer is responsible for
reimbursing your City for 20% of the cost of installation, including labor, materials, and
standard fee percentages for engineering and overhead cost for the proposed electric layout.
. .
City of College Station
June 28, 1994
Page Two
We compute that the 20% contribution required for the El Chico Restaurant 's Portion computes
to be $3, 146. 80. This cost estimate was calculated based on a total project cost estimate of
$15,734.00. The total underground cost includes a standard allowance of 30% to cover your
City's labor related overhead costs, 7% material handling costs, and 8.5% to cover your City's
administrative and engineering costs.
I trust we have provided herein the information you need on this project. If not, or if
questions arise, please let us know .
