I f some unique circums tance renders a full desi g n imprac tical, and if th e Board consents, th e a pp e al may be b ased on a decision rendered in writing by the Building Official in reply t o the applicant 's written inquiry as to the effect of a p ar ticular zoning requirement on a propos e d plan. A complete 'appl icat ion for varianc e must also be filed along with any drawings or data nece ss~r y to show the nature and e x tent of the vari anc~. (2) There will be no it em placed o n the Board agenda nor any notice published until all of the materials mentioned above are complete and in hand . We provide no materials to t he Board in support of a variance except that which we receive from the appl i cant and can reproduce in-house (8 1/2 x 14 max size, line work). (3) Application; page (1) (a) The building dep ar tment wi ll fill in the date of the hearing and the date of notification. (b) The a pplicant will fill o u t the rest of . the . form. (c ) Owners within 200 feet may be d eterm ined by scale from the 1"=100 1 scal e street map series on file in our office.-- o ... rners who se p ro perty in any part falls within th e 200 foot distance should b e listed. Measurement starts from the prop e rty line of the lot or tract in question, or, if the tract i s bound ed by a stree t, from the opposi te side of the street. (4) Applicat ion ; pa g e (2) (a) The building department will assist you in finding the zoning of th e tract, identifying the section of the ordinance and specifying the variation. (b) The r eBa ining three section address themselves to the three findings that t he Board must make in order to grant a v a riance. If th e Board cannot agr ee with any one of these> they will not b e able to grant the variance. (c) The application will be sent to the Bu i lding Official, City En gineer an d Fire Marshal for comment on any .facts within their knowledge which may bear on the case. (5) Ko ti ce of the hearing wi ll be published on the Wednesday preceeding the oee ting and will b e mai l ed by the building department to the owners within 200 feet. The complete application must be received by the close of b usiness on the Monday pr ecee ding the date of publication in order for us to mee t th e p ublish e r's d e adline. The following alternatives to t h e requested variance are possible: Conwlete removal of .the sign would cause serious fina ncial loss due to the unfamiliarity of' Krenek Tap Ro a d to the Park. An alternative is to replace the old sign which is deteriorating, whcih would not seem to be as logical as replacing the old one with a nother of the same size. . This variance will not be contrary to the public interest by virtue of the fol lowing and the Park , especially at ni~ht.
