Present zoning of land in question --------------------,------Administrative Professional
y(, Section o f ordinance from which varian ce is soug·::t -~8""'D'-"5'--------------
The following specific variation from the ordinance is requested: That the bank will be
allowed to place a free standing sign at the corner of their property showing their name
as well as directions to the motor bank fac i lities .
This variance is necessary due t o the f o llowing unique and special conditions of
th e lan d ~ot t ou ~d in like districts: Due tQ the fact that we arie attempt i ng to direct the traffic flow in from flie secondary street lSta1l1ngs Dr.J and 'out onto ~tate Hwy 30,
it is necessary to encou ~age traffice approaching from the East to turn at St alli p gs instead
of slowing on the major street and turni1ng at our f (ont drive . Traffic approaching from
the West will either enter through cross traffic at our front drive off of State Hwy 30 or
turn at the intersection and follow the same traffic pattern. We feel that this variance
is necessary to help direct the traffic through a safer tra ~fic pattern.
The following alternatives to the requested vari3nce are possible; I would like to
discuss in person the alternatives that the Board would feel acceptable if this request
is denied.
This variance will not be co ntrary to the public interest by virtue of the following
f~ct~: I t will i mprove the traffic flow by direct i ng it to an entrance of a public
facility from a secondary street at 30 mph as opposed to an approach from a State Hwy .
and major ci ty street at a considerably greater speed .
