Approval of minutes -meeting of September 16, 1980. 2. Consideration of a request for a variance in the name of J.U. Le~lanc, 902 Hol i k. 3. Consideration of a request for a variance in the name of the D.R. Cain Co., 2ROO Celinda Circle. 4. Adjourn. 902 Holik Drive South College Station, Texas 77840 9 Sep 80 Mr. Wes W. Harper, Chairman Zoning Board of Adjustment City of College Station, Texas Dr. Chris Mathewson, Member Dr. G. Wagner, Member Ms. Vie Burke, Member Mr. Jack Upham, Member Mrs. Pat Boughton, Member Mrs. Ann Daugherty, Member Dear Wes and Fellow Citizens, We designed an addition to our homestead so that we would not violate city ordinance or other codes. Upon checking our deed, plot, and de- sign we noticed that our house was not parallel with the porperty line and part of the addition would violate the set-back requirement. We had this latter point verified with the attached survey. This situa- tion is the reason for the attached request. We had planned to start remodeling in the middle of Sep 80, but the survey rescheduled the start to the 1st week of Oct 80 . Any further delay would create a burden and probable additional expenses. Today, we were also informed that the Board could not officially act on our request until the 3rd Tuesday of Oct 80. This will indeed cause prob- lems for us. However, we were told that we could make a verbal request at the 16 Sep 80 Board Meeting. I will be on military leave in Virginia during that week, cannot make the meeting, and respectfully request your considera- tion and approval of this written request at the 16 Sep 80 meeting or at a special meeting. If policies and procedures preclude formal act- ion until the 3rd week of Oct 80 we will certainly appreciate a tenta- tive approval so as to minimize the time and cost of remodeling. LeBlanc Office: 845-6841 904 Holik Drive South College Station, Texas 77840 9 September 1980 Dr. Wes Harper, Chairman Zoning Board of Adjustment City of College Station College Station, Texas 77840 Dear Dr. Harper: Mr. Joseph U. LeBlanc, my neighbor at 902 Holik Drive S., requested my concurrence for waivering the 7.5 ft. specification between a homestead and a property line. The reason for the request is due to the fact that his house is not parallel with the property lines and his pub- lished plans for remodeling exceed the 7.5 limit by approximately 0.5 ft. at the Scorner of the addition (i.e., 7.0 ft. from property line), but at the E corner of the house it will be approximately 7.7 ft. and at the E corner of the addition it will be approximately 7.5 ft. I have no objection to this request and recommend its approval. CDJI . Edward S. Fry ~ ESF/sh ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT FILE NO. This variance is necessary due to the following unique and special conditions o f the land n ot . found in like districts : The lot is unique with respect to other corner lots because the front property line is on a curve (200 ft. radius) which makes it more difficult to define the exact location of the 25 foot building line.
