Attached are the Luther Street infrastructure revisions. We have modified the proposed
Luther Street to transition down to a 24 foot pavement section in front of the Hughes,
McCoy and Peterson tracts. In addition, we have rerouted the 16 inch waterline around
these tracts. The attached plans illustrate the changes for the roadway and for the
waterline .
Jim Calloway, with the City of College Station, is familiar with the history behind these
infrastructure changes and has requested that we send the revision to you for review .
Please contact Joe Mulvihill or myself if you have any questions in regard to the
roadway design and layout. Also attached is a copy of the drainage calculations
ill u strating the capacity of the proposed 2: 1 concrete ditch on the north side of the
roadway .
Sincerely ,

Drainage Calculations
Using City of College Station Drainage Policy and Design Standards
Rational Method Analysis
Based on revised 30 foot wide pavement section
Post-Developed Condition
A. Runoff Coefficient (Table 111-1)
Drainage Area No . C-1 & C-2 -Proposed Street Improvements
Impervious Areas -Average Slope= 2.0 %, From Table C = 0 .90
Landscape Areas -Average Slope = 0.4 %, From Table C = 0.40
Composite C = 0 .65
Drainage Area No . C-1 & C-2 -Off-site Multi-Family Development
High Density Res idential -Average Slope= 1 .0 %, From Table C = 0 .75
Composite C = 0 .75
B . Rainfall Intensity
1. Time of Concentration calculated using Table 111 -2 with slopes above
Drainage Area C-1 through C-4 -720 feet draining over pavement at 1 .0 % (Half Street Width}
From Manning's = 2.6 ft./sec . Time = 4 .60
Time of Concentration= 10 .00
2 . Rainfall Intensity calculated using Figure 111-1 (Inches/Hour)
5 Yr. Frequency 10 Yr. Frequency 25 Yr. Frequency 100 Yr. Frequency
Drainage Area C-1a 7 .69 8 .63 9 .86 12 .60
C . Drainage Area
Drainage Area C-1
Drainage Summary

Drainage Summary Post-Developed Condition (cfs)
0 .75 Acres (Proposed Multi-Family Development)
Subarea Tc (min .) 5 Yr. Frequency 10 Yr. Frequency 25 Yr. Frequency 100 Yr. Frequency
Drainage Area C-1a 10 .00 6.4 7.2 8 .2 10 .5
Allowable Water Spread
From City of College Station Fig . IV-3
With Slope= 1.17 % and Q(10) = 7 .2 cfs
Calculated Depth = 5.25"
Flooded Width = 11 .85'
Criteria for West Luther St. (Collector) : One Twelve Foot Traffic Lane at the center of the street will remain clear.
From Geometry : One Half Width of Street= 19 .5 Feet
Clear Width = (19 .5 -11 .85) = 7 .65 Feet which is great than 6 foot minimum .
Therefore street section is okay .
