Re: Request to Breach Dam;
Unnamed Tributary of Bee Creek,
Brazos River Basin;
Brazos County
Dear Mr. Lampo:
We are in receipt of your letter of November 14, 1991, requesting
authorization to breach a small dam on your property. The dam is
shown to be located on an unnamed tributary of Bee Creek.
In accordance with the provisions of the Texas Water Code and the
Texas Administrative Code, your request to breach the dam is
approved, subject to the following assumptions and stipulations:
1) You are the owner of the property on which the dam is located
and on which all work will take place.
2) The dam is approximately six feet in height.
3) There is no downstream development which could be affected by
the sudden release of water in the event the breaching process
should get out of control.
4) No toxic chemicals are contained in the impounded waters or
the lakebed sediment .
. 5) Breaching should begin at one end of the dam, and occur · in
stages, so as not to cause excessive flows to occur in the
downstream watercourses. Once the lake is dewatered, complete
removal of the dam can continue.
