constructed to a size larger than that necessary to serve the reference project , as has been the
City's policy.
The originally estimated total cost to the City of Co ge Stati of the extra construction
expense of a 12 inch diamet~r water line in place o th~ /inch · ~ eter water line necessary to
serve the tract was $11 ,237 .10. ei"
Changes in the design and Ityout approved by the en ee ng department of the City have
resulted in a change to a total cost to the City of $8,337.20 for oversizing the line.

Re: Lacour Subdivision Drainage Line
Dear Veronica:
On behalf of SCC Development, we respectfully request that we not be required to run the
private drain lines all the way to the centermost low flow channel of Wolf Pen Creek on this
project. We already reach the slope of lhe main channel (by definition the fl.oodway region).
As you are well aware , having the pipes exit near the physical center of the creek is of value only
at times of very low flow in the creek. The remainder of the time, even after a modest rain, these
discharge points will be completely underwater arid having them that far out will serve no
pUipose. Laying that much additional pipe adds nothing to the real function of the drainage
system, but adds appreciably to the expense . We therefore see this request as eminently
reasonable, and urge you to grant it.

This temporary permit is valid for construction in accordance with the approved
construction plans. There are portions on the plan that are not approved as of this
writing and are so noted on the plans. Contractor shall prevent silt and debris from
leaving the site in accordance with the City of College Station Drainage Policy and Design
Criteria. Owner and/or contractor shall be responsible for any damage to existing city
streets or infrastructure due to heavy machinery and/or equipment.
In accordance with Chapter 13 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College Station,
measures shall be taken to insure that debris from construction, erosion, and sedimentation
shall not be deposited in city streets, or existing drainage facilities .
I hereby grant this permit for development of an area inside the special flood hazard area.
All development shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications submitted to and
a oved by the City Engineer in the development permit application for the above named

Convers ation with Mr. Jay Page, P . E ., at TexDOT on November 27 concerning a letter to you
from Patrick Williams , P . E., addressing questions about the storm sewer capacity and junction
box design on the above referenced project indicates that Tex DOT would like a submission of
data c alculations and possible modification to the junction box design.
We are attaching a copy of the original capacity calculations on the 36" storm drain proposed o n
this site and would request that these be forwarded to Mr. William's office . We are also
modifying the reinforcing steel placement to match the requirements of TexDOT for this size
structure .
