We already reach the slope of lhe main channel (by definition the fl.oodway region). As you are well aware , having the pipes exit near the physical center of the creek is of value only at times of very low flow in the creek. The remainder of the time, even after a modest rain, these discharge points will be completely underwater arid having them that far out will serve no pUipose. Laying that much additional pipe adds nothing to the real function of the drainage system, but adds appreciably to the expense .
