RE
College Station ISD Transportation Facility
Dear Ms. Volk:
As requested, the additional information and clarifications which were requested by the City of
College Station on June 13 , 1996 , are presented below. We understand that once this
information has been reviewed and approved by the City of College Station, construction work
can be started at the College Station Independent School District (ISD) Transportation Facility.
In accordance with the City of College Station's requirements which were discussed in our
meeting of May 21 , 1996 , notification will be provided to the Fire Marshal , and an electrical
permit will be obtained by the electrician.
Comment No. 1 -Concrete specifications concerning reinforcing bar spacing should be
consistent.
Concrete reinforcing bars will be spaced on 18-inch centers for all concrete slabs which
are poured.
Comment No. 2 -The location of the 100-year floodplain must be noted on the map.
As we discussed, the 100-year floodplain does not extend to the area represented by the
map. As noted on the map , only the 500-year floodplain is present in the area of the
College Station ISD Transportation Facility.
Comment No. 3 -Indicate the location where soil will be stockpiled at the facility and state
what erosion controls will be used to contain sediment.
The proposed locations of stockpiled soil are shown on the attached copy of the site
plan. The proposed method for erosion control is to place excavated soil and fill
material on plastic sheeting and cover the soil with plastic sheeting . Soils will be
covered until removed for disposal or until the soil is placed into the excavation during
backfill activities .
