Post Office Box 4234 Bryan, Texas 77805 Memo: September 20, 2004 To: City of College Station Development Engineering Re: Rock Prairie Baptist Church Parking & Drive Aisle Improvements - Drainage Letter From: Fred Paine The site is an existing local church with existing parking and sidewalks. It includes a state historical building monument. Due to the closing of a portion of Old Rock Prairie Road and the future one way operation of the State Highway 6 access road, the church is proposing to construct an alternate main entrance drive accessing Rock Prairie Road. Additional proposed improvements include a 11 space parking area specifically for the older members of the congregation. This project is in the Lick Creek drainage basin. Total site area is 4.33 acres. Total area of impervious improvements is 0.31 acres. A storm water runoff analysis of existing and proposed conditions was conducted using the Rational Method and is summarized below. CONDITION Q2 (cfs) Q10 (cfs) Q25 (cfs) Q100 (cfs) Existing 10.4 14.2 16.2 19.1 Proposed 11.5 15.7 17.9 21.2 Change 1.1 1.5 1.7 2.1 *Refer to Sheet ST -3 of the Site Plans for computation As shown, the increase in runoff ranges from approximately 1 cfs at the 2 year event to approximately 2 cfs at the 100 year event. Due to the minor increase in proposed conditions runoff, an exception to the detention requirement is requested. No adverse effects on the existing site facilities or downstream facilities & landowners are anticipated.
