Re: Summary of Structural Steel Observations for Building Superstructures Associated with the
College Station Independent School District Athletic Facilities Additions and Renovations

Dear Mr. McCarty:
Please accept this letter as a summary of the observations made by CME Testing and Engineering, Inc.
(CME) during the construction of the various superstructure elements of the Athletic Facilities Additions
and Renovations for the College Station Independent School District (CSISD) in College Station, Texas.
CME was retained by College Station Independent School District to perform observations of bolted and
welded connections for structural elements for various structures that collectively comprised the Athletic
Facilities Additions and Renovations Project for the CSISD. The structures observed by CME along
with the corresponding building permit number are listed below:
1. New Home Side Restrooms (Permit #07-00003459 Unit D).
2. Multi -Sport Field House (Permit #07-00003458 Field House).
3. New Visitors Restrooms (Permit #07-00003460 Unit E).
4. Press Box Renovations (Permit #07-00003461 Unit Q.
5. Stadium Field House (Permit #07-00003386 Unit B).
6. New Maintenance Warehouse (Permit #07-00003484 Warehouse).
7. Addition to Existing Main Warehouse (Permit #07-00003485 Main Bldg).
The basis of our observations were the project documents that were prepared under the guidance of the
project architects, VLK Architects, of Houston, Texas.
The structural observations were performed by Mr. Anthony Muzny of CME. Mr. Muzny is a certified
welding inspector. His certification certificate is attached to this letter.

CME personnel were not continuously present at the project site. Therefore, CME personnel only made
observations when notified and requested by the construction manager and general contractor, Pepper -
Lawson Construction, L.P. (Pepper -Lawson) through the CSISD representative Mr. Royce Thomas.
Consequently, CME did not observe each and every structural connection in each of the referenced
buildings. However, we believe that we did observe what we believe to be a representative number of
structural connections in each of the referenced buildings. The work performed by CME was based upon
visits to the site made during the time period from May 2, 2008 through July 15, 2008.
In general, based upon the periodic observations made by CME of structural connections for the
referenced buildings as documented in our reports for the project, we believe the observed connections
were constructed in a workmanlike manner and seemed to be in substantial conformance with the
previously cited construction documents.
We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance to CSISD in the construction of the District
Athletic Facilities Additions and Renovations.
