Provide Fire Rated windows, and doors- both interior and exterior, located within a fire rated wall to comply with tables 715.3 & 715.4 of the 2003 IBC. Austin, TX a. The buildings are required to be 1 hour protected. The exterior walls Baltimore, MD and interior load bearing walls are part of a I hour protected Boston, MA structure. These walls in question are allowed to have door and window openings in them as long as the structural portions of the wall Charlotte, NC are protected, which they are. These walls should not be confused Chicago, IL with a 1 hour fire -rated wall that separates individual buildings from Columbus, OH each other, different tenants or means of egress. We have omitted any Dallas, Tx incorrect annotation regarding protected versus separated. 2. Provide Roof Construction with a 1 hour fire rating, including trusses, Hartford. CT decking, supporting beams and joists to comply with V-A construction type Jacksonville, FL per table 601 of the 2003 IBC. London, UK a. Afire rating using the UL system P522 is now used on the roofs of all buildings in order to comply with the relevant codes. Please refer to Minneapolis MN the following sheets for all changes in Phase I.• A-7.2, A-7.3, A-7.4, A- New York, NY 7.9, A-7.10, A-7.11, A-7.13, A-7.13A. Please refer to the following Richmond, VA sheets for all changes in Phase IT A-7.1, A-7.2, A-7.3, A-7.5, A-7.6. 3. Provide a listed, tested assembly number for the 1 hour fire resistance rated San Francisco, CA construction for enclosures under stairways per section 1019.1.5 of the 2003 San Jose, CA IBC Si. Lois, MO a. The enclosure under the stairs does not need to be rated due to the Tampa, FL exception listed in Section 1019.1.5 of the 2003 IBC (Exception: Spaces under stairways serving and contained within a single Wilmington, DE Winston-Salem, NC The NELSON Southeast Operating Company, LLC 1122 West Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30309 (404) 873-3697 tel (678) 904-1510 fax www.nelsononline.com SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE NELSON GROUP OF COMPANIES residential dwelling unit in Group R-2 or R-3 as applicable in Section 101:2). These buildings are classified as R-2. Each stair serves only one unit and each unit is I hour separated. The stairs do not break the rating between tenants. Please refer to detail #4 on sheet A-6.4 in the Phase II set. 4. Provide Comm. Check reports on buildings to comply with 2003 IECC a. Please see attached 5. Page A-3.2, #3, add 1 hour fire separation between units. a. 1 hour fire separation added between units; please refer to sheet A-3.2 in the Phase I set. 6.
