The fixture enclosure for the lavatory does not extend to the ground. Re: Attached revised drawing 9/A3.1 Sim. with clarification notes added. A minimum of 15" clear vertical space (re: attached TAS drawing) will be provided under the fixture itself which does not as is protrude into the clear floor space of the water closet. The fixture enclosure itself will allow even more clear vertical space. Item 3: Re attached compliance report. Item 4: The fire rated walls of the lab are for future use. The user will not be using the lab to its fullest extent for some years. due to the cost of the equipment (aprox $30,000 at this time). Considering the tight budget of the project and high cost and inconvenience of remodeling the extra layers of sheetrock at a later date it was agree to prepare the walls now. In the event the user decided to change the use of the lab at a later date requiring the 2 hr rating she can purchase the equipment, the door, and achieve some other unrelated remodeling without incurring the cost of removing cabinets, adding sheetrock, and refitting cabinets, etc. An additional decision to not provide the rated door at this time is based upon the fact that the tenant requires a view lite in the door to facilitate lab personnel/costumer needs. The cost of a view lite with 2hr rated glass is a considerable one, that the user can better absorb down the road should she decided to remodel.
