Suspect materials identified and sampled included floor tile and associated mastic, ceiling tile and wallboard joint compound. Representative samples of these materials were collected and submitted to LOFLIN`s Houston laboratory (NVLAP #2044). Samples were analyzed using Polarized Light Microscopy coupled with dispersion staining in accordance with the US EPA "Method for the Determination of Asbestos in Bulk Samples" (EPA 600/R-93/116, July 1993). Based upon laboratory analysis, the sampled materials were not determined to be asbestos containing. This survey was conducted in general accordance with the Texas Asbestos Health Protection Rules (TAHPR) and the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for the area being renovated.
