Attention: Mr. Thomas Gessner
Subject: Results of Survey for Asbestos Containing Materials
1403 Athens in College Station, Texas
Loftin Environmental Services, Inc. Project Number 1900804
Dear Mr. Gessner,
Loftin Environmental Services, Inc. (LOFLIN) has completed a asbestos survey of accessible
areas of 1403 Athens in College Station, Texas. The survey was to identify possible asbestos
containing materials used in the space and assess those which may become friable during
building renovation. This survey was performed by W. Joseph Loftin (DSHS Consultant #10-
5140) on May 21, 2008.
The building was visually inspected to identify suspect asbestos containing materials. Suspect
materials identified and sampled included parquet flooring mastic, sheet vinyl flooring, spray -in
batt insulation, floor tile and associated mastic, HVAC duct mastic (gray), ceiling texture, and
wallboard joint compound. Representative samples of these materials were collected and
submitted to LOFLIN's Houston laboratory (NVLAP #2044, DSHS Lab # 30-0031). Samples were
analyzed using Polarized Light Microscopy coupled with dispersion staining in accordance with
the US EPA "Method for the Determination of Asbestos in Bulk Samples" (EPA 600/R-93/116,
July 1993).
Based upon laboratory analysis, the sampled materials were not determined to be asbestos
containing. This survey was conducted in general accordance with the Texas Asbestos Health
Protection Rules (TAHPR) and the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants
(NESHAP) for the areas being renovated and/or demolished.
Loftin Environmental Services, Inc. appreciates this opportunity to provide these testing services.
Should you have any further questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
?LoffinEnviron al S rvices, Inc

Asbestos -containing materials - The type and percentage of various fibrous components was determined by the microscopist in accordance
with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 'Method For The Determination Of Asbestos in Bulk Samples" EPA/600/R-93/116, July 1993.
Departures from the test method. None
The above test report must not be used by the client to claim product endorsement by NVLAP or any other agency of the U. S. Government.
Analysis results on this test report pertain only to those materials tested.
Disclaimers: PLM analysis has been known to be inaccurate for materials with low concentrations of asbestos. Negative PLM results cannot be
guaranteed. LES recommends using TEM analysis for materials reported as <1 % or none detected. This report may not be reproduced, except
