Re: Starvision- 400 Harvey Mitchell Pkwy, Suite # 100
Application # 08-508
Dear Mr. Hillman & Ms. Lisa Fain,
I have completed the plan review for the above referenced project and have the following
comments. The plan review is based on the 2006 International Codes, the 2005
National Electrical Code, ANSI A117.1-2003 Accessibility Standards, and our local
amendments. Where appropriate, I have included the applicable code sections.
1. Submit building envelope ComCheck 2006 IECC.
2. Change door #106A to swing towards front means -of -egress (direction of
egress travel), two exit doors are required off corridor #106.
3. Provide an exit sign above Door #106A on the corridor #106 side to comply
with section 1011 of the 2006 IBC.
4. Remove exit sign above Door #114A, because it is not an exit. A required
exit path shall not pass through an intervening room which can be locked and
obstruct egress (Project Room #4). Section 1014.2 of the 2006 IBC.
5. Provide an exit sign above Door #107A to comply with section 1011 of the
2006 IBC.
6. Provide demarcated, minimum 44" wide on floor of egress path/corridor
adjacent to rear overhead loading/unloading door to maintain required egress
width to exit door without obstruction.
7. Locate fire extinguishers.
8. Submit fire sprinkler and fire alarm plans to Fire Marshal Office, Eric Hurt,
979-764-3705 for approval prior to installation.
P.
The review does not include any civil or zoning issues or NRA requirements of the
Unified Development Ordinance. Please respond to the plan review comments at your
convenience. Three sets of plans addressing these issues will be required. Should
you have any questions, contact me at 979-764-3754.
Thank You,
Ben McCarty
