This letter ig issued at the rcquest of Mr. Dale Christian of Jefferson Christian Homos.
As discussed with hint, our soil investigation did indicate the prese,tice of intermiitcnt
layerk of rock begnning at depths below 3- to 4-feet and continuing till the depth of si x.-
fect Soil was encountered below the rock layers below the depth of six -feet. During our
conversation, Mr. Christian indicstod that he has previously had difficulty drilling
through these ruck layers in the surrounding areas and wanted to explore the passibility
of using a conventiou-0y reinforced slab inat ati of drillod footings. Althougb our
normal soil drilling rig war able to auger through the intermittent rock leycrs, a
convention4lly reinforced slab can b: u6ed for tho project m rerom mtmded in 0= above
r'foivnced repot. We =d9rstard tom our conversation wiLh Mn Christian that,, it is
proposrd to ex..avate the top soils to a depth of three. to fr)cu.fcat (up to the sWl of rock
layer) and replace with non expamivo select fill soils cou►nacted as outlined in our report,
