MEMORANDUM
DATE: October 30, 2003
TO: Planning & Zoning Commission
FROM: Jennifer Prochazka, Staff Planner
SUBJECT: Proposed UDO Amendment, Section 7.4 Signs
The proposed Unified Development Ordinance amendment modifies Section 7.4
Signs. Currently, the Unified Development Ordinance does not clearly explain
how the area of an attached sign is determined. The proposed Ordinance
amendment will provide an explanation of the determination of the area for all
signs.
The following changes are proposed:
• Section 7.4.A Sign Standards:
A note will be added to the chart that clarifies how the area of any sign
is measured.
• Section 7.4.M Freestanding Commercial Signs:
Remove 7.4.M.1.b.2, which describes the area of a freestanding sign.
This will no longer be necessary with the addition of the note to the
chart in Section 7.4.A Sign Standards.
