RE: LETTER JUSTIFICATION FOR 4" SERVICE
Baumann Office Building
Dear Mr. Norton,
The purpose of this letter is to formally request permission to serve the Baumann Office Building
with a 4" PVC sanitary sewer service line in lieu of a 6" service line. Each of the two office
buildings will be equipped with men's and women's restrooms and a small break area. Our
conservative peak flow estimate is 1,800 gallons per day or 1.25 gallons per minute or 0.0028
cubic feet per second (cfs).
Using the Manning formula, assuming a 2% slope, and an n value of 0.012 for PVC yields a full
flow capacity in a 4" pipe of 0.29 cfs and is more than sufficient capacity for the sanitary sewer.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sin4erely,
