Dear Property Owner:
This letter is being sent from the Development Services Department to update you on a
request that was made to change the City's Land Use Plan in your area (this is not a
zoning request). This information is a follow -up to a letter sent in October.
The request has been made by a property owner in the area under provisions of the City's
Unified Development Ordinance. The submitted request proposes that property
designated for residential development be changed to allow commercial development.
City staff has analyzed this request for consistency with the City's growth and
development policies and potential impacts. Attached you will find a color map showing
the current Land Use Plan and the changes being recommended by City staff.
The requested change along with staffs recommendation will be forwarded to the
Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council for their consideration. These
meetings will be public hearings and will include the opportunity for citizens to address
the Commission and Council. The time and dates of these meetings are listed below:
Planning and Zoning Commission - Thursday, December 11, 2003 - 7:00 pm, Council
Chambers at City Hall, 1101 Texas Ave.
City Council - Thursday, January 8, 2004 - 7:00 pm, , Council Chambers at City Hall,
1101 Texas Ave.
Thank you for your time and input. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any
questions regarding this request at 764 -3570 or via email jkee@cstx.gov.
Sincerely,
