Re: Fire Flow Review
Chick -fil -A - Case File X/11- 00500031
College Station, Texas
Dear Mr. Norton:
Project No.: R0100722- 50004.32
With this letter we hereby provide notification that the fire flow to the proposed Chick -fl -A
restaurant will meet the demand of the building. The following information was used in our
evaluation:
• Tables B105.1 and C105,1 of the 2.009 IFC, Type VB - Wood Framed Construction with
Brick Veneer, 4,596 SF building requires a hydrant fire flow of 1,750 GPM at 20 psi
• Fire sprinkler system will be provided which allows for a 50% reduction of the required fire
flow but no less than 1,500 GPM
• Fire flow test performed by College Station Utilities on March 9, 2011 (refer to the attached
flow test)
• Fire Flow Summary Report prepared by Strong Systems International, Inc, (refer to the
attached test report)
The City of College Station Utilities provided the fire flow test to our office dated March 9, 2011,
which was coordinated with the fire sprinkler designer, Strong Systems International, Inc. Using the
flow and pressures provided, the flow at 20 psi will be 16,818.5 GPM, well above the required fire
flow. Please note that this evaluation is good as of the date of this letter and does not warrant the
fire flow to the restaurant if improvements are made to the public water line system.
