Sanitary Sewer Analysis
KHA Project No. 064422500
Campus Village Phase 1B is a new student housing development located at the
Northeast Intersection of Harvey Mitchell Parkway and Wellborn Road in
College Station, Texas. This proposed development is the second of three
phases, located on approximately 40 acres. This technical memorandum
addresses sanitary sewer capacity for the proposed sanitary sewer system for
Phase 1B and updates the sanitary sewer calculations for Phase 1A.
Design Criteria
There are two sanitary sewer mains which serve Phase 1B. These mains are
labeled B1 and B5. The sanitary sewer mains have been designed in accordance
with the BCS Unified Design Guidelines and City of College Station standard
specifications. Flow calculations were performed using Method 1 — Fixture
Count Determination as provided by the Mechanical/Electrical /Plumbing
engineer for the development. An exhibit showing demands at each building is
attached to this memorandum. Capacities of the sanitary mains were determined
using Manning's formula for each segment between building connections.
Results
The attached spreadsheet shows the results of the capacity calculations for each
segment of the two existing mains. This analysis indicates the pipe sizes exceed
the capacity requirements for the flow in each segment. The minimum excess
capacity of the four systems is 0.074MGD and occurs in Line B 1. The segments
are at or above minimum slopes as outlined in the design criteria.
Conclusion
The sanitary sewer mains for the proposed development minimum
requirements as described herein. •••
