This item is scheduled for the Thursday, September 4, 2003 Planning & Zoning
Commission Meeting. This meeting will begin at 7:00 P.M. in City Hall Council
Chambers. I have included a copy of the agenda for this meeting. Please contact our

Existing A -O. Agricultural -Oven: Proposed R -1 Single- Family Residential:
PURPOSE: This district includes lands within
the corporate limits of the City, which are not
subdivided and are relatively undeveloped. This
district is designed to be applied to land which is
used for agricultural, very low- intensity residential,
or open space uses, but which is projected in the
Comprehensive Plan for conversion to more intensive
urban uses at such time as community services are
available and community needs for such uses are
present. As such, it is a reserved area in which the
future growth of the City can occur.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
This is to notify you that the City of College Station is considering a REZONING request for the
following property:
Applicant: MR. J. STEVE ARDEN
Subject Property: 71.37 ACRES generally located southeast of the current
Edelweiss Gartens Subdivsion and west of Bald Prairie
Subdivision
(See attached location map.)
Proposed Zoning: A - Agricultural Open to R -1, Single Family Residential and R-
2, Duplex Residential.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, SEPTEMBER 4,
2003 at 7 :00 p.m. to consider the request. The City Council will also hold a public hearing to
consider the request and the Commission's recommendation on Tuesday, SEPTEMBER 23, 2003
at 7:00 p.m. The public hearings will be held in the City Hall Council Room located at 1101
Texas Avenue South, College Station, Texas.
All owners of the subject property and property owners within 200 feet of the subject property
have received notification of this request.
Any request for sign interpretive services for the hearing impaired must be made 48 hours before
