Kee, City Planner Council Meeting Date: September 9, 2003 Director Approval: City Manager Approval: Item: Presentation, discussion and possible action on granting a petition for annexation for property generally located between F &B Road, Raymond Stotzer and Harvey Mitchell Parkway. Item Summary: Two property owners, Patricia Jones and Mary Futrel have submitted a petition to the City of College Station under Section 43.028 of the Local government Code. The statute requires that the governing body hear the petition and either grant or refuse. If granted, the Council by ordinance may annex the area. Item Background: These properties are in the area generally referred to as the F &B Road area. This area contains approximately 110 acres of which the Jones and Futrel tracts account for 14.57 acres. There has been development interest expressed for the two tracts under consideration. The \a larger area includi acts is in the City of College Station CCN area y ,.. ; fn,_ r w:ate vi_ce� esently there is not water service available but there is a line extension under contract Potential developers are working with both cities under an interlocal agreement for sewer service to be from the City of Bryan. The staff is presently working to bring the Council several areas to consider for annexation later in the month. The F &B area is one of those for consideration. Budgetary and Financial Summary: NA Staff Recommendation: Relationship to Strategic Plan: VS.3 - Planning & Development / Strategy 3. We will continue to provide for a well planned community / Implementation Plan c. Guide growth through planned annexation. Council Action Options: Grant or refuse petition.
