But could two houses be built without replating? There are several properties in the neighborhood that have more than one habitat on one property, one on montclair and one on dexter has several small houses surrounding a larger house, then there are garage apts on park place and dexter next to or near the main house. We the established home owners hate to see southside turn into a congested mess. The practice of converting all green space into parking and houses is troubling. I dont have a problem with garage apts or small houses. But the new two story rent houses we see on montclair and park place with all parking and no yards is sad. I look at the once quiet neighborhood of Cooner street and realize what we will look like. I once lived on eisenhower in a small rent house and loved it, it was nice and quiet. Park Place near HEB was once a nice neighborhood. Much blame goes to the city planning for allowing developers to ruin neighborhoods. Hilgemeier and the P&Z Board I write to express my opposition to the replat request for 304 Fairview. An ordinance is in place to prohibit this action. The ordinance was approved to protect the rights of the community at large who enjoy a neighborhood of homes with open space between and around them, yards that allow play areas for children and adults alike. Approval of the replat rewards the entrepreneur who cares little about the feeling of a peaceful, uncrowded neighborhood. He will make his profit and move on to his next prey, ultimately returning to his own large peaceful estate, possibly out of town. Please help current residents continue to enjoy the openness of our neighborhood. file://C:Tocuments and Settings\mhilgemeier\Local Settings\Temp\XPgrpwise\4A8A609... 8/18/2009 Page 1 of 1 Matthew Hilgemeier - 304 Fairview Replatt Request From: Jon Maxwell <jmaxwe1134@yahoo.com> To: <Mhilgemeier@cstx.gov> Date: 8/17/2009 1:12 PM Subject: 304 Fairview Replatt Request Mr. Hilgemeier, Regarding the subject variance request, I am out of state this week and unable to attend the planning meeting at which the 304 Fairview variance is being considered. Please consider this email a statement supporting the staff recommendation to deny the variance. Even in an area that is largely rent houses such a reduction is markedly inconsistent with other existing development. Thank you, Jon Maxwell 710 Park Place file://C:\Documents and Settings\mhilgemeier\Local Settings\Temp\XPgrpwise\4A895724... 8/18/2009
