The property was recently annexed and zoned A-O. This zone change is necessary for the land to be re- developed as Townhomes. 2. Indicate whether or not this zone change is in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan. If it is not, explain why the Plan is incorrect. The comprehensive land use plan was recently amended to change this tract to Residential Attached. This zoning change will be in accordance with the plan. 3. List any other reasons to support this zone change. The zoning change will allow for a transition in the land use for development along Jones Butler Road and the future single family subdivision to the west. The proximity to Texas A&M University also makes it appropriate for this zoning. The property can then be Re-Developed in a manner that meets all City ordinances and codes. Also, the increased demand for Townhomes or Apartments for retirees, students and young professionals is another reason to change the zoning designation for this property.
