All proposals involving site development or redevelopment in the Northgate District shall
require approval of the Project Review Committee (PRC).
Zoning District: NG -1, Historic Northgate
Location: 104 College Main
Applicant: Bryan Awnings
Item Summary: The applicant is proposing to install an awning on the front facade of
the building that matches the existing awning across the street and on the adjacent
building. The proposed awning is a 26' wide by 7' deep aluminum awning with white
panels and a bronze fascia.
Item Background: The structure was built in approximately 1930 as a retail store. The
Northgate Plan encourages awnings for buildings along University Drive and College
Main. There is presently no awning attached to the building, but features of the current
facade indicate that there was once an awning attached. This structure is reflected as a
medium priority in the Northgate Historic Resources Guide.
