R14 M JANE KEE City Planner FILE COPY c (0 Ff April 22, 2002 Dear: As part of the City's long range planning program, the Land Use and Thoroughfare Plans in the area between Welborn Road and the IG &N right -of -way are being updated. Records show that you may own property in this area. This letter is being sent as a courtesy to make you aware of this project and inform you of the process. The Land Use Plan shows preferred land use for the development of properties. The Thoroughfare Plan shows the locations and sizes of future streets. Together they are used to guide the growth and development of the community. These plans are periodically updated to reflect new development and policy changes. The current plans were adopted in 1997 and the current effort will propose minor changes. There will be two public hearings that will allow citizens a chance to speak about the proposed changes as they are being considered for adoption. The first will be at a meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission on May 16. The second will be before the City Council on June 13. Both will be at 7pm and will be held at City Hall, 1101 Texas Ave. Please find enclosed a map of the area being studied. On this map you will see existing and proposed streets as well as property lines. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the changes being proposed in this area please contact us; we welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
