According to City Ordinance, it is the responsibility of the Developer to construct thoroughfares on their property as depicted in the Comprehensive Plan. Since the majority of ROW for the Jones- Butler extension was dedicated years ago and the fact that this project takes access to Jones-Butler, the City feels it can only require that one-half of the necessary ROW be dedicated and the payment of one-half of a Residential Street. It is the intent of the Public Works Department to construct the Jones-Butler extension in the future as an arterial. If the City constructs this street prior to the development of the property, the property will be assessed accordingly for the one-half of the 70-ft roadway.
