(1 -022) Applicant: Ross Albrecht for the City of College Station Staff Recommendations: Staff recommends approval of the vacating and final plat. Item Summary: A vacating and final plat is being proposed to amend Section "L" of the College Station Cemetery. Cemeteries are subdivided into sections, and further into plots, as standard subdivisions might be broken down into blocks and lots. On a cemetery plat, each section is required to have a descriptive name and number and each plot a specific, unique number. The City of College Station owns the cemetery land, and easements to the plots are sold to individuals. A service road has been established across a platted, but unused portion of Section L. Because of vehicular use in this area, some plots previously platted are being vacated. The remaining portion of Section L is being amended so the City may extend its services to provide grave sites for cremated remains. This plat is subject to P &Z review because of the number of lots involved. Comprehensive Plan Considerations: The Land Use Plan shows this area to be Institutional. The cemetery has frontage on Texas Avenue, a major arterial. Attachments: 1. Area map 2. Application 3.
