January 10, 2002 City Council meeting, all proposals

All proposals involving site development or redevelopment in the Northgate District shall
require a review subcommittee of the Northgate Revitalization Board (NRB).
Zoning District: NG-1 Historic Northgate
Location: 301 College Main, at the northwest corner of Church and College Main
Applicant: Chad Grauke
Item Summary: The Northgate Center project was previously accepted by the NRB
on December 20, 2000. The applicant has submitted an amendment to the
landscaping/streetscaping requirement at the request of the property owner. On the
approved site plan, four benches and two trash cans were proposed. The applicant has
requested instead that the NRB consider decorative railing close to the western property
line and between the building and sidewalks on College Main and Church as acceptable
streetscaping.

Item Summary: Urban redevelopment
Item Background: This building, last used as a resale shop, has been vacant for
several years. It is estimated to have been built around 1945 and sits in its original
location. The Northgate Historic Resources Survey designates the building as a low
priority structure. The changes to the building are proposed to make the building
tenant-ready. The use has yet to be determined, but the applicant hopes to
accommodate a restaurant or possibly retail.
