The area on thi' revised site plan, LS-1.1 that shows "20 NOT INSTALLED". You can plant 16 of the 20 plants acid save 4 bushes to go in front of the lights at the new sign. Take the first 4 bushes set in a straight line on the drawing prior to the curved portion and plant the other i6 as drawn originally. See attached drawing for the area labeled #1. 2. The two trees got installed at the front of the property in the city's setback need to be planted anywhere in the: 40' setback. Goad idea to plant them out from under the big oak trees and maybe near the new si~~n. See attached drawing for the trees labeled #2. 3. The b bushes shown "NOT INSTALLED" in the middle area of the front parking lot. two shown on the end island :and 4 shown between the cars, can be installed in front of the lighting at tha front sign with the ottfer 4 bushes from the front. See the attached drawing for the bushes labeled #3. 4. The 15 bushes labeled "NOT INSTALLED" on the west side of the entry drive need to be installed. The bushes should be instaNed to fill in between the existing bushes to help screen the parking lot. See the attached drawing for the bushes labeled #4, 5. The three existing trees at the circle island in the back of the property, tFiai had to be removed, do not need to be replaced. We have modified the sign to more closely follow the restrictions for the Business Center. We would like to shield the existing electrical transformers etc. that are exposed above ground at the location shown (Drawing 05/05). The placement of the sign and the bushes would greatly improve the looks of the front of the site and your greenbelt. The location proposed is not unlike the location you have used for the Business Center sign at the corner of Venture Drive and the By-pass. Dear Bridgette: There were three unresolved issues on the city staff remarks last week. All three were engineering comments and all three were for Stewart Kling. The following comments should resolve two of the three issues. 1. Engineering Comment: (5. Need trench safety detail sheet.) Answer: (Attached sheet TS-1 from Stewart's office). 2. Engineering Comment: (8. All documents containing engineering details must be sealed by a Texas Registered Professional Engineer.) BOX 9960 College Station, TX 77842 RE: Heat Transfer Research Inc. Dear Bridgette: Per your memorandum dated July 20, 2000, we are addressing each of the city staff's comments on our original site submittal dated June 26, 2000. Instead of re-typing all of your staffs comments we have hand written our response to each comment along side your staff's. When a drawing has been modified to address your staff's comments, we have referred to the sheet that the change was made on. It is important to note that we submitted drawings and comments on 7-24-2000 for what we thought was the full extent of you staff's comments and have since discovered that this was not the case. We need you to return our drawings that were submitted so that we can dispose of them. We are resubmitting several of the sheets we gave you and having two stamped sheets will cause all kinds of problems in the future. (I.e.: sheet SP-1.1 for example was submitted 7-24-2000 and we are re-submitting (7-26-2000) the same sheet with additional changes). We axe sorry, as we know you are, that this submittal process got so messed up on this project. One of the items on your memorandum is the request by the Business Center Covenants Board to get material samples for the exterior of the building. The problem is that I do not have any samples yet. I can describe the materials as follows: The building walls are 95% modular brick facade over metal studs. The brick is in three colors; a wainscoting color of medium gray (similar to "Acme Brick" blend #167), the field brick or the brick above the wainscoting will be a light gray (similar to "Acme Brick" blend #160), and the third color will be a dark glazed Maroon/gray brick (similar to "Endicott Tile Ltd." Color Dark Ironspot) used as three accent bands through the field brick. The remaining 10% of the wall finish is out of white EIFS and the wood trim is painted white. The roof is "Nardi-Slate" imitation slate tiles in a >nix of dark bronze and gray. The columns will be wood painted white. We submitted color renderings with our original submittal to the board in hopes that .~.~/~ 12~~~ MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS -2- July 26, 2000 the drawing would be acceptable. Will you see that the board gets these comments and please let me know if this will not be enough. Dear Bridgette: We were not sure where to send this letter and the drawings so you are the lucky one. We are submitting 5 (8 1/z" x 11") drawings, (Sheet 01 through 05) for review. We have not built the sign yet and are looking for approval not only for the design, but also for the location. We would like to shield the existing electrical transformers etc. that are exposed above ground at the location shown (Drawing 01/05). The placement of the sign and the bushes would greatly improve the looks of the front of the site and your greenbelt. The location proposed is not unlike the location you have used for the Business Center sign at the corner of Venture Drive and the By-pass. The project is nearing completion and due to time constraints, the sign construction will not be started prior to the owners move in date. We are formally requesting that the "Certificate of Occupancy" from the city be issued, when requested, with the condition that the sign be constructed as drawn. We also will not have all of the landscaping and irrigation completed and need the same consideration. The owner is willing to take whatever steps you request to be able to move into their new facility on the 15`h of March. The owner's lease expires on April 1" and they must be out of their facility in the A&M business park by that date. Thanks for your attention, and I am available if you need any additional information. Sincerely, ~n J.
