Application for In-home Daycare issues addressed:
I currently have a Registered Family Home in which I have 6 nonrelated children and my 2 children
that attend on a regular basis. They range from 8 months to 6 years. My hours are currently 7:30
am to 5:30 pm, they should stay the same unless there is a parent needing care outside this time
period. If 1 am approved by the City of College Station I will then go through Daycare Licensing
to become a Licensed Group Daycare. This will allow for me to accept 4 or possibly 5 more
children into my home as well as hire afull-time or two part-time employees. I say possibly 5
because I currently have one child who attends on Mondays and Fridays and another who attends
on Tuesdays and Thursdays that make up one opening. My operating procedures should not
change. Parents drop off and pickup their children at varying times which makes parking in the
driveway possible at all times. Curbside parking is occasionally used but Hereford is large enough
to accommodate this. The garage has been made over with carpet and air conditioning to make a
playroom for the children. The entrance to the daycare is through the garage. The map shows a
basketball goal in the driveway, however this is not up anymore. Other than that all is correct.
Parking-- The driveway fits 4 vehicles. The two uppermost positions are reserved for my vehicle
and an employee, this leaves the bottom two spaces nearest the road open for parents to drop off
and pick up their children. Parents come at varying times throughout the day and stay for only a
few minutes. If more than two parents happen to come at one time, the street is large enough for a
vehicle to be parked at the curbside and still have enough room for other motorist's to pass.
Screening_off offensive areas-- The backyard contains a shed which is always locked when
children are present. Between the shed and rear property line there is a small area that is fenced off
to keep the children away from possible dangers such as a weed eater, lawn mower and a bi.n full
of aluminum cans. An air conditioning unit sits upon a concrete slab in the back yard, the internal
fan is set deep inside and has a heavy metal guard covering the top, making this a safe
environment. Finally the trash can, which. is provided by the city is located on the right side of the
house away from the day care entrance and away from the play area. There are no other offensive
areas.
Traffic impact-- Hereford street is connecting Holleman which is a main thoroughfare. My home
is the third house from Holleman which is enough distance away from Holleman to not cause any
congestion on this main street and close enough to a main street to not cause excess traffic in the
innermost part of the neighborhood. As previously mentioned parents arrive at varying times
throughout the day so the extra traffic will hardly be noticed. 1 currently have a total of 8 children
enrolled, 2 of them are mine, that attend on a regular basis and are planning to stay enrolled. There
have been no problems with traffic and no foreseeable problems that 4 more children could create.
Hereford is a road than can accommodate moderate traffic without being a burden, it connects to
Dexter which leads to George Bush so that traffic could easily be dispersed throughout the
neighborhood.
Protection of Neighborhoods-- The neighborhood will not be greatly effected in any way. There
will be slightly more traffic, however with the students coming back at the same time I plan to open
up enrollment, I doubt that the neighborhood will see the increase. The noise level may increase
but I will do everything I can to control it. There are many children in the neighborhood so most of
my neighbors are accustomed to the sounds of children.
I verify that all information contained in this application is true and correct.

The main areas that the kids are allowed to roam are the daycare(garage), dining area,
hallway and bathroom. The kitchen is not blacked off but the children usually stay out.
The living room is where the children can play after they wake from a nap until all others
wake up. The living room is closed offby a set of double closet type doors the remainder
of the time. The small bedroom. the kids can play in occasionally since that is my children'
room. The master bedraom and other bedroom are closed off and children are not
allowed in them, these rooms are used for paperwork, files and storage; for this reason
they are also considered "mixed" use.
